  • Ok, I guess the truth is that I am not very faithful with Facebook or Xanga since I spend very little time on the internet. Well, were do I start.... We still just have one little girl. Not even pregnant yet. It is so much fun to be her mommy. She turns two next month. Time goes so fast.

Church is going so much better. We were sad so see some people leave but feel so much peace and unity at church now!!! God has blessed us with a small faithful group. We are hoping and praying that God will use us as a light in our community. We are hoping to grow in number but not for us.... We desire to see more souls serving God!!!

Loren and I have our tickets and are planning to be in the States from Dec. 2 through Jan. 11th. We would love to see as many of you as possible. We can´t wait to spend Christmas and New years with my family. This will be the first time since we got married 3 years ago.

Tomorrow we are planning a trip to Rancho Ariba. We are hoping to have a revival meeting there in the afternoon. Our plan is to go door to door in the morning inviting people and then have the meeting in the afternoon beside the river. Maybe would should have Manuel really copy Jesus example and get a boat. lol! It is our desire that God would use our church in that community. It is about 1.5 hours away and it is really catholic. The people are poor and live far from cities. I have been told that the culture is not the same because the seem a bit like mountain people. This will be the second time that we reach out there. Pray for God´s will tomorrow and also His guidance in the future.

Well, I guess I should be going. My heart is still doing the same thing as before. Still hoping to get it worked on again this year. God bless you all!!!

  • I posted on facebook and wanted to share the pics. will you all but I can't figure out how. Just in case Loren shows up soon to pick me up... I just wanted to let you know that we are doing great and God is at work in our church. It is exciting to see God at work but we are still far from great!!! Keep praying for us. Pray specifically for the young people in our church. As problems get worked out, I fear that we have neglected teaching the younger generation. Please pray that God would give us wisdom and that God would heal our church. We want Him to be glorified and really that is the only reason we are here. JUST PRAY!!

  • I know it has been a long time. I am so sorry. The truth is I am more into Facebook now, at least while I can get to the internet every day here in the States. For those of you who don't know... we are in the states now until June 10th.

My heart is still giving me problems and we are trying to get financial aid to help pay for the procedure before we get it done. The procedure would include sticking a wire in my shoulder and a wire in my leg, meeting in my heart and burning the bad cell. Please keep praying.

    Here are some pics. Enjoy!

  • Hey Everyone!! I hope you are all having a Blessed Day and being a blessing to all those around you!! Here are a few pics. I am so behind on pictures... I think I even have to add Christmas pics now. Enjoy!!!

100_5387 This was Christmas with the Mejia's... My other family. My father-in-law is the one farthest right. He is so much fun. My mother-in-law is standing to the right of my tall brother-in-law. We had a lot of fun although it just isn't like being in the States. ( although I WAS home for Christmas!!! ) Yup, this is home now!!

100_5403 Excuse my fat cheeks. I was eating and they gave me no warning.lol. That's my sister-in-law,Magdali,  with Briana. They thought Briana would get sick because she ate so much that night. She is such a good eater!!!

100_5416 This is my other sister-in-law Margaret. They are both like sisters to me. I love them so much!

100_5460 Magdali and I trying to pose for a pic. with Briana kissing me. She just melts my heart!!!

100_5474 and of course I have to show Briana opening some gifts. This is from grandma Myer. It is a Zoo Train. Briana loves taking it apart!

100_5486 Grandma Mejia gave a beautiful pair of white sandals that Briana is trying desperately to grow into. I figure that is why she eats so much. lol : )

100_5521 It was so much fun to have my aunt Miriam Hade and my mom here in Jan.!!! I loved every minute of there visit. It was great to get to know my aunt more personally. I should have taken more pics!!! Briana has been walking for 3 weeks now without any help and she is also learning to use here training seat that sits on the toilet. I AM SO PROUD OF HER!!!

100_5526 We also enjoyed a visit from Sheldon and Krista Huber in the end of Jan. We had so much fun taking them all over the place. It was almost like I was sight seeing too. I told Krista that it felt like vacation to me. It was too bad that it rained at the beach.

100_5553 The last time Loren went to the river to wash the truck, Lenny, the neighbor girl, and I took Briana to play. She sat there and banged to rocks together the whole time. She wasn't really into swimming!

100_5554 This was an unpleasant surprise. I was working outside and since Briana walks alone, I let her play outside while I work. Look where I found her. lol. I let her play and have fun but I did have some cleaning up to do with her when she was done. It was an early bath that day.

Well, that all the pics. I had time to upload. I hope you enjoyed them. In other news....

I am still taking pills for my heart and  waiting to see if they take care of the problem. In the meantime  they sure make me more comfortable.

Loren built a fence around my house so no the cows won't be eating my flowers. I am very excited about making it pretty now. I have already done some planting. Down here we have flowers all year around. Aren't you jealous? lol

There is now a Dominician guy from our church dating/courting and American girl  who was a missionary down here. I am very excited about that. It will be fun to have another cross cultural marriage down here.

Thanks for your prayers for our church and keep praying. I feel that God is moving!!! Please pray for the marriages when you pray. ( God will understand why)

Wow, I am sure there is much more that could be said but I am having a brain freeze and want to go hang out on facebook! God Bless and be sure to Bless God!!! Alicia Mejia

  • Happy Valentines DAY!!!!!

So sorry that I don´t have time to put pics. I brought the memory and everything and have so many pics. that I would like to share but we must be going already. I spent all my time in facebook and e-mail. Sorry!!!

Life is going GREAT!!! I had a wonderful day. We went to the river this morning and i got some sun playing with Briana in the water. Then Briana and I went to a birthday party for our dearly beloved Yovany!!! She turned 40 today. Such fun!! Then for Valentines, Loren brought me to Bonao to eat out and now I am enjoying the internet quick before we go for ice cream. THIS IS A REAL TREAT!!!!

Briana has been walking for about two weeks now and she is such a joy to have around.  I wounder sometimes if I love her TOO much!!! She has my heart wrapped around her pinky.

My heart is the same old. I can ignore it but it is still there. ( I am glad my heart is still there... lol ... for those of you who don't know i am talking about my heart problem. ) The meds. help a lot!!!

We are really enjoying the new administrator and his wife and daughter. Linford, Amilia, and Kristalene are from Paraguay and are such a fun family. Their daughter is 2 and looks like Briana's older sister. ( although Briana is the oldest. lol) They are so cute playing together.

Well, I better go. Keep us in your prayers and come visit us soon!!! Miss You All and see you in MAY!!! We are planing to come up April 29 through June 10! God Bless and most importantly...Live to BLESS GOD!!!
